Makalu Kanchenjunga Tented Camp is the extensive trekking package from The Sherpa Way that combines Makalu Trekking with Kanchenjunga Trekking. 28days Makalu Kanchenjunga Tented Camp trek takes us to the north east Nepal which is the homeland of Makalu Mountain -the fifth highest mountain of the world.
35minute of flight from the Domestic Airport in Kathmandu will take us to Tumlingtar from where we will take the drive through local jeep to Num. We will lower down and begin our trek along the gushing Arun River. Makalu Kanchenjunga Trekking route passes through pasturelands and villages of Rai, Limbu, Sherpa, Chhetri and Brahmin ethnics to Tashi Gaon which is the last village that we will encounter while in the way to Makalu Base Camp. We will enjoy the views of Makalu mountain, Hongku Chuli peak and other peaks and mountains in Nepal and Tibet.
We will cross several High Passes that are above 4000m height and walk along sparkling lakes of Soju Pokhari, Jaljale Pokhari, Guphapokhari and Kalopokhari before passing through Hatiya Gola to Basantapur from where we will drive back to Kathmandu. Milke Danda is yet another attraction of Makalu Kanchenjunga Trek. In fact, Milke Danda is the forested ridge which includes among the four popular places for rhododedndron in Nepal.

Day01: Flight: Kathmandu to Tumlingtar (35min), Drive to Num
50minutes of pleasant flight from Domestic Airport in Kathmandu will take us to Airport in Tumlingtar. Lowering down from the plane, we will take 3hours of drive through gravel road and cross Chichila to reach Num where we will stay overnight.

Day02: Trek to Seduwa
We will follow the lowering trail through the terraced fields to reach to Arun River. From Arun River, we will take the raised path that progresses through Makalu National Park to Seduwa. Following the raised path from Arun River which progresses through woods, we will make it to Makalu National Park where we will register our permits. We will then walk to Seduwa and stay overnight.

Day03: Trek to Tashi Gaon
We will choose the escalating trail that rises up to the top of the ridge which is enclosed by Ipsuwa and Kasuwa Rivers. The ridge offers great views. We will make our way through villages and rice fields to Tashigaon where we will stay overnight.

Day04: Trek to Kongma (1497m)
We will continue our walk along the escalating trail for about 6hours to reach Kongma. From Kongma, the route stretches through the desolate Barun Valley. Kongma is located near to Shipton La Pass. We will stay overnight at Khongma.

Day05: Trek to Dobate
We will climb the difficult trail to reach the top of Shipton La. Shipton La offers the striking views of mountains and valleys. We will walk along Kalo Pokhari Lake to Keke La Pass. We will enjoy the view of Chamlang Peak before descending through valley to Debote.
 
Day06: Trek to Yangri Kharka
Early in the morning, we will traverse the colorful woods of blooming rhododendron to arrive at Baruni River. The route continues uphill from Baruni River to Yangri Kharka which is also known as Yangle Kharka. Yangri Kharka is located at the base of the valley.

Day07: Trek to Langmale
We will take the steep climb to reach valley. The route continues through plain land before escalating uphill to Langmale. Enroute, we will enjoy the spectacular view of Makalu Base Camp. 

Day08: Trek to Makalu Base Camp
Today, we will be walking through the route that exists at 5000m height. So, possibility of High Altitude Sickness exists in Makalu Base Camp. We will follow the rocky trail to Makalu Base Camp. Makalu Base Camp offers spectacular views of various mountains and peaks.

Day09: Explore Makalu Glacier and back to Base Camp
We will take short trip around Makalu Base Camp to observe Makalu glacier. Be cautious while walking through the glacier as the path will be made slippery by melting snow. We will return back to base camp to stay at the tented camp for evening.  

Day10: Trek back to Yangri Kharka
Leaving Base Camp early in the morning, we will lower down through passes and valley to reach Yangri  Kharka. It takes about 8 to 9hrs of trek to reach Yangri Kharka. We will stay in Yangri Kharka in the tented camp for night.
 
Day11: Trek to Khorlonge
The journey continues through woods to Khorlonge. Enroute, we can enjoy the scenic view of Makalu Mountain. We will cross stream and reach Khorlonge where we will stay overnight.

Day12: Trek to Takmar
We will rise early in the morning and begin the journey for 12th day. We will pass few pretty settlements and make our way uphill to Takmar where we will stay in the tented camp.

Day13: Trek to Saldum
Saldum is the culturally rich highland village. We will walk in and out of the stone house village of Saldum. It will give us an opportunity to view the local way of living. We will stay overnight at Saldum.

Day14: Trek to Hatiya Village
The trail continues through Saldum to Hatiya village. The route offers some of the gratifying views of mountains and basins. Once we reach Hatiya village, we will visit the nearby stupa and stay overnight at Hatiya village. 

Day15: Trek to Chepuwa
Chepuwa is the beautiful village in Sankhuwasabha district and is located near to Tibet border. We will make it to Chepuwa village where we will prepare our tent camp and stay overnight.

Day16: Trek to Cyamtang village
We will leave Chepuwa village and the trail continues through series of ups and downs to arrive at the bridge. We will cross the bridge and follow the ascending trail to Cyamtang village.   

Day17: Rest Day, visit Kimathamngka
17day is taken as rest day. Short trek can be arranged to reach Kimathangka upon your interest. Kimathangka is popular village in Sankhuwasabha district. We can have close up views of local culture and ways of living at Kimathangka. We will return to our camp at Cyamtang.

Day18: Trek to Thudom village
We will rise early in the morning of 18th day and begin our Makalu Kanchenjunga trek. We will follow the tapered path to Thudom village. Animal herding and agriculture is the chief occupation of locals. We will stay overnight at Thudom village.

Day19: Trek to Thangla Pass
We will choose the escalating trail to reach the foothill of Thangla pass. Difficult 6hrs of trek will take us to the foothill of Thaqngla pass. We will pitch our tented camp in the clearing area near the foothill of Thangla pass and stay overnight.

Day20: Trek to Topke Gola via Thangla Pass 
Difficult ascend through the tapered path will take us to the top of Thangla pass. We will take brief rest and enjoy the scenic views of Makalu and other mountains from the top of Thangla pass. We will lower down from the pass and then our journey continues to Topke Gola where we will stay overnight.

Day21: Trek to Saju Pokhari
We will cross few local tea shops and continue our journey through the desolate land to Saju Pokhari. We will set our camp at the edge of Saju Pokhari.

Day22: Trek to Kalo Pokhari
From Saju Pokhari, the trail stretches through the forested ridge to Kalo Pokhari. We will set our camp at the edge of Kalo Pokhari.

Day23: Trek to Jaljale Pokhari
We will leave Kalo Pokhari early in the morning and head through the forest of oaks and pines to reach Jaljale Pokhari. The site in Jaljale Pokhari offers views of scenic mountains and hill. We will stay overnight at Jaljale Pokhari.

Day24: Trek to Milke Danda
From Jaljale Pokhari, we will make our way to Milke Danda which is among the four popular regions where rhododendron- national flower of Nepal grows in abundance. Milke Danda is the forested ridge that offers spectacular views of mountains and peaks.

Day25: Trek to Gufa Pokhari
Scenic trail along the colorful array of blooming rhododendrons will take us to Gufa Pokhari which is the lake of crystal clear water. We will pitch our tented camp at the edge of Gufa Pokhari and stay overnight.

Day26: Trek to Chouki
Chouki is located at an altitude of 2680m height above sea level. We will stay overnight at Chouuki.

Day27: Trek to Basantapur
Pleasant trek of 5hrs will take us to Basantapur which is the crowded village.

Day28: Drive to Biratnagar Return to Kathmandu
From Basantapur, we will catch the vehicle. We will return back to Kathmandu through Biratnagar.
